Horizons of Friendship

Horizons of friendship, an organization committed to eliminating the root causes of poverty and injustice in Central America & Mexico, wanted to revamp the website to create a digital hub where partnered organization members and volunteers could find information about their programs and educational resources.

 

As the Design Consultant at Joint Development Collective, I worked alongside the communication, fundraising specialist and developer to create an interface that was clean, welcoming, and approachable. We wanted to ensure users could navigate through the information with ease and clarity, ensuring that the content and information was easily accessible to partners, donors and volunteers. We focused on enhancing and simplifying the navigational flow to enhance the user experience and build a platform that would amplify Horizon's community outreach goals and fundraising initiatives.

Through the development process, we participated in user-centred design activities, including research, interaction design, interface design, evaluation (user testing, design critiques), and content enhancement (content strategy).

Since launch day in 2017, Horizons of Friendship has seen an increase in online engagement, including a 40% increase in users driven to the website, a 53% increase in unique visitors and a 15% increase in page views.
