City of Toronto
The City of Toronto commissioned a poster celebrating the work and career of Giuliana Carbone, Deputy City Manager Community and Social Services.
The work is a representation of Giuliana’s impressive career milestones. I wanted to highlight the amazing work she did to transform Toronto Community Housing, Transit Fare Pass and Community Benefits framework, Child Care Growth, parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan to name a few. Giuliana helped create the foundation that makes this city so unique, diverse and progressive. Giuliana is also an avid seamstress, so I was inspired by quilts as a symbol of community, resourcefulness, the connection between the past and present, and the celebration of life. I felt this was a great way to celebrate who she is as a leader, philanthropist, and advocate. I also included 37 Maple leaves, not only to represent Canada but to represent her 37 years of leadership.
